What makes Health Check Pads unique

Patent-pending pH detection technology
Our patent-pending technology measures the pH of your dog's urine. When urine pH is off, the pad spot turns purple—a clear sign to pay attention (could be a UTI or other issue). No color change means all good. It's a simple way to stay on top of your dog's health between vet visits.

One of the most absorbent pads on the market
This highly absorbent pad pulls moisture into the pad and traps it there, holding up to 6 cups of pee without leaking so your floors stay clean and dry.

Tested by dog parents through our PetParent Lab
Before any Pet Life Unlimited product finds its way to the shelf, it's tested and verified by dog parents in their own homes. They give us the valuable feedback we need to tweak and improve.

Understanding urine pH and your dog's health

What is urine pH and why does it matter?
Urine pH measures how acidic or alkaline your dog's pee is on a scale from 0 to 14. For dogs, a healthy pH range is typically between 6.5 and 7.0. When your dog's urine pH goes outside this range, it can signal potential health issues like urinary tract infections or other health issues before you see any symptoms.

How our color-changing technology works
Our patent-pending indicator reacts to the pH level in your dog's urine. When pH is outside the healthy range, the pad spot turns purple and stays for a few hours. The purple color is your cue to monitor closely and consult your vet if it persists. No purple means your dog's pH is in the healthy zone.

Who benefits most from health monitoring
While any dog can benefit, Health Check Pads are especially valuable for older dogs (more prone to urinary issues), dogs with a history of UTIs or bladder stones, dogs on medications that can affect kidney function, and anxious dog parents who just want that extra peace of mind between vet visits.

How to use

Our Health Check Pads come in one size (Large - 22"x22") with over 3 square feet of coverage making it perfect for dogs of all sizes.

Follow these four easy steps for peace of mind:

1. Green side of pad goes up
Place the pad on the floor with the green side (the printed side with the indicator) facing up. Make sure it's smooth and wrinkle-free so your pup has a comfortable, stable surface.

2. Let your pup pee and check the pee spot
After your dog pees, check the wet spot. No rush—the color lasts for hours, so you can check when it's convenient for you.

3. No purple? That's healthy pee
If you don't see any color change, that means your dog's urine pH is in the healthy range. You can go about your day with peace of mind.

4. Purple spot?
If the spot turns purple, their urine pH might be off. Keep monitoring for a day or two. If it stays purple, consult your vet.

Pro tip: Use Health Check Pads regularly to establish a baseline for your dog's normal urine pH. This makes it easier to spot changes that might signal health issues.
