Sticky strips to keep pads in place
Puppies wiggle. Pads don’t have to! Our pads feature adhesive strips they stay put on your  floors without damaging them. Pro tip: you can also use the strips to connect several pads for greater coverage. 

High absorbency for tiny bladders
Puppies pee a lot, and this pad absorbs it all without leaking no matter how many trips to the pad your puppy makes, not just scaled-down adult dog pads.

Before any Pet Life Unlimited product finds its way to the shelf, it's tested and verified by real dog parents in their own homes. Puppy parents loved that the scents and visuals would help draw their puppies to the pad and help with potty training.

Potty training takes patience, but SmartStart Puppy Pads make it easier.  

Place the SmartStart Puppy Pad (pattern up)
Find a consistent spot where you want your puppy to go and attach pad using the sticky strips that keep it in place (with no residue). Keeping the pad in the same place helps puppies learn faster. We do not recommend putting pads in the puppy’s crate.

Stick to a schedule
Bring your puppy to the pad: first thing in the morning, after meals, after water, after naps, after play, and every 30–60 minutes. Predictable potty breaks make success way easier.

Let them sniff the pad
They'll be drawn to the Smell+Go™ scent. This is the attractant working to create that positive association.

How are SmartStart Puppy Pads different from regular dog pads?
Other "puppy pads" are just regular pads marketed to puppy parents. Only ours are uniquely engineered for puppies. We combine visual cues (our See+Go™ Pattern with special colors), scent attractants (Smell+Go™ berry-lavender), and absorbency designed specifically for frequent puppy pees. Regular pads don't have any of these puppy-specific features. 

How do the visual training cues work?
Unlike plain white pads, Our See+Go™ Pattern uses special colors that lead puppies to the pad. It's like putting a bullseye exactly where you want them to go. 

What does the Smell+Go™ Attractant smell like?
It's a gentle berry-lavender scent that's designed specifically to naturally draw puppies back, but not overpowering for their sensitive noses (or yours). The scent creates a positive association with the pad and helps puppies remember where to go. 

Will my puppy be confused if I switch to different pads later?
Not at all. Think of SmartStart Pads as training wheels. They make the early learning easier. Once your puppy has the basics down, transitioning to other pads (or outdoor training) is simple because they've learned the fundamental concept. 

How absorbent are these pads?
These pads hold over 3 square feet of absorbency and are specifically engineered for frequent puppy pees. Because puppies go often and in smaller amounts, we designed the absorbency to handle multiple trips without leaking.

Can I use these for adult dogs?
Technically, yes. But SmartStart Pads are specifically designed for training puppies. If you have an adult dog, you might prefer our Smart Print Dog Pads, which come in more sizes and are designed for adult dog needs. That said, if you have a small adult dog, these work great. 

How many pads should I expect to use per day during training?
It varies by puppy, but most puppy parents use 2-4 pads per day during the early training phase. As your puppy learns and gains bladder control, you'll use fewer. Our Large 30-count package gives you a good starting supply to figure out your puppy's rhythm. 

At what age should I start using SmartStart Puppy Pads?You can start as soon as you bring your puppy home, typically around 8 weeks old. The earlier you establish a routine, the easier it is to potty train. The visual cues and scent attractant are especially helpful during those critical early weeks.
